Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service govern the use of the KCP Platform (hereinafter "Platform") operated by the Climate Lab, Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Article 2 (Definitions)

For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:

"Platform" refers to the carbon data inquiry and analysis service provided by KCP.
"User" refers to any individual who agrees to these Terms and uses the Platform.
"Data" refers to all information provided through the Platform, including carbon emission and absorption figures, statistics, and analysis results.
"Analysis Results" refers to carbon status, diagnostic, and comparative analysis information generated and provided through the Platform.

Article 3 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)

These Terms become effective upon posting on the Platform or notification to Users.
KCP may amend these Terms within the scope permitted by applicable law.
If KCP amends these Terms, KCP shall specify the effective date and reason for the amendment, and post a notice on the Platform's main page together with the current Terms, at least 7 days prior to the effective date of the amended Terms. However, if the amendment involves material changes or changes that are disadvantageous to Users, KCP shall provide such notice at least 30 days prior to the effective date.
If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, they must discontinue use of the Platform.

Article 4 (Service Provision and Use)

4.1 Scope of Services

The Platform provides the following services:

Inquiry and review of monthly, sector-specific carbon emission and absorption data at the sub-district level nationwide
Annual regional emission increase/decrease rate and comparative analysis results
Greenhouse gas reduction calculation and reduction simulation tools
External sharing of analysis results

4.2 Conditions of Use

The Platform is accessible to anyone without membership registration. However, Users must comply with these Terms.

4.3 Service Interruption

KCP may temporarily suspend services without prior notice for reasons such as system maintenance, failure recovery, or data updates.

4.4 Raw Data Provision

If raw data not available through the Platform is required, please contact KCP separately. The availability, scope, and conditions of raw data provision are determined through KCP's review.

Article 5 (Data Use and Sharing)

5.1 Purpose of Use

Data and analysis results provided through the Platform may be used for personal and non-commercial purposes.

5.2 External Sharing

Users may share analysis results externally using the sharing features provided by the Platform, subject to the following conditions:

The source must be clearly attributed to "Korea Carbon Project (KCP)".
Data must not be used for commercial purposes.
Data must not be used in a manner that infringes upon the rights of third parties.

5.3 Prohibited Activities

Users shall not engage in the following activities:

Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or sale of Platform data
Falsification or misuse of data
Actions that place excessive load on or disrupt the normal operation of the Platform
Use of another person's access credentials to access the Platform

Article 6 (Intellectual Property Rights)

All intellectual property rights related to the Data, Analysis Results, design, and software provided through the Platform belong to KCP or the respective rights holders.
Users may freely use the Platform's data and analysis results for non-commercial purposes, provided that the source is clearly attributed.
The prior consent of KCP is required in the following cases:

Use for commercial purposes
Creation of paid services or derivative works based on the data
Mass reproduction or distribution of Platform content

Where KCP Platform data or analysis results are provided through artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the source must equally be attributed to "Korea Carbon Project (KCP)".

Article 7 (Privacy)

As the Platform does not require membership registration, no personal information is collected.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

KCP shall not be liable for damages arising from service provision in the following circumstances:

Service interruptions due to force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or terrorism
Damage caused by the user's misoperation or negligence.
Damages caused by a User's violation of these Terms

Data and Analysis Results provided through the Platform are furnished for reference purposes only. KCP makes no warranties regarding the completeness or accuracy of the data.

Article 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
For any disputes arising in connection with these Terms, the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act, the Seoul Central District Court, or the court having jurisdiction over the location of Seoul National University shall be the court of first instance.

Article 10 (Miscellaneous)

Matters not addressed in these Terms shall be governed by applicable higher-level laws and regulations.
If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
